Game Overview

State your Superiority

Warface and Blackwood go against each other in intense Versus match-ups. And with up to eight players on each side, the action always comes thick and fast! You can swap class in-game at any time, maximizing your performance on the battlefield. Clan players also have the option of using the Clan War feature to play against other clans instead of joining public games.

Lobby

Server Browser

The game has several channels, all divided by player rank. This means players with high rankings and players with low rankings can be kept apart. Select a channel that suits your skill level.

Room types

  • Default: Normal room type including additional options such as settings and team switching.
  • Auto Balance: These rooms are used to create evenly matched teams. You cannot switch teams in these rooms. Once the game starts, you are automatically assigned to a team.
  • Clan War: Clan members can open a Clan War room with specific settings and initiate play against other clans. Clans earn Clan Points for these matches.

Private Room

Create a private room for you and your friends. Select a game mode, map, game settings and click "Host". You can invite your friends to your room. As long as this room is set to private, people who are not invited can't join it.

Quick Play

Select "Quick Play" to join a room and immediately get in the action. Just click a game mode to join an on-going game with this game mode or Random Map to join the first available Quick Play game.

Quick Play is the only game mode allowed on the rookie channels.

Game Room

Master

The person who hosts a new room automatically becomes the room master. They can invite players to the room or kick them out, as well as changing the game mode, maps and settings. If a room master doesn't start the game within a time limit, another person will be promoted to the position of room master.

Swap Teams

The room master can swap teams by clicking the "Swap Teams" button. This can only be done if the game hasn't started yet and auto-balancing is switched off.

Start

After choosing a vendor, a soldier class and your equipment you are ready to play. Select "Ready" and wait until the game master starts the game. By clicking "Join" you can participate in a match that is already underway.

Game Modes

Team Death Match

There are two teams and one rule: Kill as many enemies as you can. The first team which reaches the maximum score (150 kills) or has the highest score when the time expires wins the match. When killed, players can respawn again after a few seconds. This classic mode allows for individual initiative whilst rewarding teamwork and coordination.

Plant the Bomb

Teamwork is the key to this mode. One team tries to plant a bomb in the designated locations, while the other attempts to defuse it or wipe out the attacking forces. Once eliminated and if not revived, players will be respawned in the next round.

There are two teams; attackers and defenders. Attackers must pick up the bomb, install it on one of the enemy's plant sites, activate the timer, and make sure the bomb explodes before the defenders deactivate it. At the beginning of the round, the bomb is near the attackers' base. One member of the attacking team should pick it up and deploy it at a plant site. Other team members must protect him from the defending team.

The attacking team will win the round if the bomb explodes or all of the defensive team is eliminated. Defenders win if the bomb isn't planted before time runs out, if the planted bomb is defused, or if all enemy soldiers are killed before they install the bomb.

After a few rounds, teams swap sides. The team that wins the predetermined number of rounds wins the game.

Storm

Can you hold your ground long enough to take your team to the top? The defensive team has three command posts. Their goal is to protect them at all costs. This assault-mode puts the other team on the offensive as they aim to capture the three strategic points in succession. Players can respawn after a few seconds during the rounds.

If a command post is lost, defenders should retreat to the next one and try to protect it. A round in Storm games last for 15 minutes. Attackers need to capture as many command posts as they can. Teams swap sides when time is up or when all command posts are captured - meaning attackers become defenders and vice versa. Winning comes down to the combined results over both rounds.

There are a few ways to win:

  • Capture all the command posts faster than the enemy.
  • Capture more command posts than the enemy in the allotted time.
  • If you capture the same amount of command posts in less time than the enemy, then you're still the winner.

In short: Outperform the enemy!

Capture

One team has a briefcase containing nuclear codes in their base. Their goal is to protect it at all costs. The other team attempts to steal it and deliver it to their base.

The attacking team wins the round if the briefcase was stolen and delivered to their base, or all of the defending team has been eliminated. Defenders win if the enemy fails to capture the briefcase in time, or if all enemy soldiers are killed.

Destruction

Hold firm and dominate the game for long enough to transmit the coordinates of enemy positions back to HQ. An aircraft will deliver an air strike as soon as the coordinates are transmitted. You can utilize the air strike to destroy three enemy towers for an instant win, or simply dominate the opposing team on the ground until you earn a certain number of points. You choose the tactic.

Destroy all three enemy positions by sending coordinates to your aircraft. Alternatively, dominate the enemy team and gain the desired number of points before the enemy destroys all your positions.

Free for All

A true soldier must also stand alone. In this fun and open mode, success comes down to fast thinking, adaptability and stealth, as each player tries to take down any other player. Eliminated players can respawn after a few seconds. The game continues while the clock is ticking or until somebody reaches the score limit.
