Update on the switch to 64-bit
Soldiers!
We would like to remind you that in the near future Warface will switch from the 32-bit to the 64-bit OS. It is an important and serious step! The transition aims to kill two birds with one stone:
- to improve (optimize) game performance on PCs;
- to provide new opportunities for future global content development.
Make sure that you are on 64-bit!
Details
Let’s briefly go over the reasons for transition. The current version of Warface on PC is a 32-bit app that does not grant efficient use of PC resources.
- As for high-end PCs, 32-bit apps make use of part of their resources and do not operate at the maximum capacity.
- As for low-end PCs, 32-bit apps employ all available resources but do not allocate them to page files on the hard drive. As a result, the memory limit causes game crashes.
Consequently, future game development is severely restricted by minimum system requirements as well as by a poor optimization. That’s why most of modern developers have discarded the 32-bit (?86) software long ago. We have waited for quite a while to give our players time to switch to the up-to-date OS but now it’s time for us to go ahead.
The transition to 64-bit is scheduled for this summer. Considering the transition is successful, Warface will no longer be available on 32-bit Windows.
At the moment few players use the 32-bit OS. Nevertheless, we want every soldier to be ready for the transition!
If you still employ the outdated OS, it is a good idea to switch to 64-bit Windows as soon as possible. How can you do that? Learn in the following article. Follow the link to find out more about the 64-bit Windows system requirements.
We’ll keep you updated. See you in game!
