Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported
Dear players!
Technological progress keeps advancing and the outdated software is replaced with new platforms. Today we announce that Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported for Warface.
The reasons
We remind you that Microsoft has stopped supporting this operating system a few years ago. Windows XP gets no updates and third-party developers of its drivers and programs have also stopped updating their software. This leads to a range of issues, most importantly – with security. We have reached a point when supporting Windows XP negatively impacts the development of the game and restricts the players. Compromise solutions are forcing us to decline new technologies in favor of the ones that simply work. Such approach is irrational and bears no merit to our player base. The game must evolve along with the surrounding environment.
More details
The fact that the support for Windows XP has stopped does not necessarily mean that that game will stop launching for all the OS owners. We, however, no longer guarantee that Warface will work or even launch on XP. If any issues arise and a ticket is submitted to the support, the technical support specialist will recommend upgrading the OS. In time part of the game content or even all of it can become inaccessible for those who keep using outdated Windows XP.
Vista follows
Windows Vista experiences a similar situation. This OS, heavily criticized during its lifespan, has also lost the support of Microsoft. Due to the issues alike the ones with XP – the decision has been made to stop supporting Warface on Vista.
And one more thing
Currently the developers recommend using the newest OS: Windows 10. It gets the best support from Microsoft and allows for the newest technologies to be implemented. The minimal player’s choice should be Windows 7.
Thank you for understanding.
