Friends!
We are pleased to present a significant update to the mod system, bringing a host of changes to the game this fall. Below, we outline the key innovations and enhancements that will make weapon progression even more engaging and beneficial for every player.
One of the most noticeable changes is the increase in modification slots: 9 slots for weapons and 3 for gear. Previously, the system allowed only a limited number of mods; now, you can use up to nine mods on a single weapon. This removes the risk of wasting parts on an ineffective build, as weapon performance now scales with progression.
We reworked mod bonuses across levels so that even early tiers offer noticeable improvements. In the previous system, initial upgrades had minimal impact. Now, even early-level mods contribute meaningfully to stats like damage or other attributes, potentially swaying firefights. The overall progression model remains intact—you unlock new mods and slots as you level up—but progression is now more beneficial from the start. Upgrade costs for some mods have also been adjusted.
Effectiveness by Mod Level:
Level | Stat Boost (Before) |
Stat Boost (After) |
1 |
20% of max bonus |
50% |
2 | 35% | 70% |
3 | 50% | 83% |
4 | 70% | 93% |
5 | 100% | 100% |
Weapon and gear progression now includes more levels, resulting in a significantly higher part return. As a result, progression has become the primary source for parts—up to 10,000 parts per weapon (previously 3,000).
All weapons and gear released or upgraded since September 2024 now have expanded mod slots, with a maximum of 9 for weapons and 3 for gear. If a weapon previously had fewer than 9 available mods, the count has been increased accordingly.
Older (pre‑Sept 2024) weapons have also been updated. Their slot counts now match the number of previously available mods, capped at 9. You can find the full list of weapons in this category in the original article.
Weapons with rebalanced mod counts include:
Weapons with increased mod slots include:
Modding for the Spectre equipment will be disabled. All parts spent on enhancing its mods will be fully reimbursed.
Mods for devices have been rebalanced: some bonuses adjusted, and negative effects removed in all mods except unique ones.
Q: Do I still need to choose specific mods? Will some builds be superior despite the ability to equip all at once?
A: No. You can now equip all available mods simultaneously; no need to choose, as each contributes meaningful bonuses.
Q: How many parts are needed now to reach the same effectiveness as a fully upgraded weapon with 3 gold mods previously?
A: About 8,675 parts to upgrade all mods to the Very Rare (blue) tier, yielding similar performance.
Q: Where can parts be obtained now?
A: Weapon and device progression are the main sources—up to 10,000 parts per weapon. Additionally, parts can be earned via events, contracts, and other in-game activities.
Q: Will there be new ways to acquire parts?
A: Yes. New methods are planned for future updates. Stay tuned!
Q: Will new players find it harder to progress?
A: Not at all. Early-level mods now provide greater bonuses, making progression easier and more rewarding for newcomers.
Q: Can two unique mods now be equipped on older weapons?
A: No, еven if an older weapon has two unique mods, only one can be equipped at a time.
See you in the game!
